NEXT PAL BOD MEETING:

WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 2ND  -  12PM  -  PCH 14 WEST

The City's Phoenix Asian League (PAL) is proud to propose that ASU’s Asian Pacific American Studies Program present their inaugural report on "The State of Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders in Arizona" at the Jan. 22, 2010 Brown Bag.   Note:  The July 24, 2009 Brown Bag has been moved to 1/22/2010.

The report arose from recognition that policymakers lack adequate information on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Arizona. The report looks at several major areas: the history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Arizona; and issues dealing with health, economics and finances; language; the increasing complexity of biracial and multicultural issues; public safety; law; and politics.

The contact is Dr. Kathy Nakagawa (nakagawa@asu.edu). (480) 727-6052. She'll determine specific speakers from ASU as we approach the date. If you're interested, here is PBS' Horizon feature on it. http://apas.clas.asu.edu/resources/apazi.shtml
